This workshop is a unique opportunity to hear about and discuss the practice of architecture and its intersections with other art forms, teaching and research, from an award winning architect. It will commence with a short Housing Unlocked exhibition tour, led by an exhibition mediator.

Stephen Mulhall will share insights from his experience of designing, writing, editing, film, and exhibition-making as an architect whose practice, nineteeneighty, creates projects across architecture and design, film, and research strands.

The talk will also include a discussion on architectural education and architectural practice; the industry and setting up on your own; finding opportunities for collaboration; continuing research interests; and the dissemination of architecture to a wider public.

This workshop is for current third-level students and recent graduates of Architecture, emerging professionals, and those interested in a career change or learning more about the profession and expanded practice of architecture in Ireland today.

Stephen Mulhall runs nineteeneighty, a cross-disciplinary studio focused on architecture and design, film, and research. He is a Grade III Conservation Architect and member of the RIAI.
